Infrared Thermography technology has been utilized to investigate buildings for over 50 years. The non-destructive analysis can assist indetecting and locating issues associated with air leakage, moisture intrusion and condensation within roof, wall, exterior cladding assemblies, as well as HVAC systems and other sub-surface heat sources. Infrared thermal imaging is utilized in conjunction with visual observations and the review of record documents to evaluate thermal anomalies and formulate recommendations to address deficiencies. Infrared scans may also be used to validate construction details such as structural members, insulation, and air barrier performance.

Bell & Spina utilizes instruments that document radiant heat temperatures as a graphic color range that allows analysis of temperatures within built assemblies. While surface temperatures are recorded, it is the analysis and interpretation of temperature differences that indicate moisture content and/or heat loss. Our qualified personnel have both training and experience investigating, interpreting, and making recommendations based upon thermal imaging and construction methods.
