Casey-Smith Hall and “Green” Connector Roof

Casey and Smith Towers are two ten-story residence halls connected by a two-story section. The connection section received a vegetative “green” roofing system. Bell & Spina customized the selection of the roofing types used in the whole project yielding the most effective solution; a lightweight insulated concrete fill and modified bitumen roof membrane was selected for the towers. The vegetative roof using sustainable design saves on utility costs while providing a solution that is pleasing to the eye and helps the environment.
