The Allied Health Building is a three-story 56,164 square foot steel frame and masonry building constructed in 1967. The approximate overall roof area is 17,900 square feet, including a 2,500 square foot penthouse roof. The roof decking is comprised of cast concrete with the penthouse roof being a concrete plank. Mechanical systems in the building include an air return plenum above the corridor ceilings. This space being used as a return air plenum affects the scope and nature of this project.
The scope involves a complete replacement of the existing ballasted EPDM roof and Styrofoam insulation down to the concrete deck. This will be replaced with a new fully adhered EPDM membrane over a new insulation system. Existing rooftop curbs, penetrations, and roof to wall transitions will be flashed with roofing manufacturer approved details for a complete system. Estimated Construction Cost: $609,000.
